The first case is ready. Now it is your turn.

Maribor 1681 — The Black Seal is finished and fully playable on the streets of Maribor, and before it goes on sale we are giving it away to a small group of test teams. This is not homework. It is roughly two hours of entertainment — a good way to spend a Sunday in Maribor with friends or family. Play it, enjoy it, and afterwards tell us what worked and what did not.

How to join

  • Type your email address in the box below. That is the whole application — one field, no sign-up with us.
  • No Questo account? Don't worry about it. Questo is free, an account takes seconds to create, and the instructions come together with your invite.
  • You get an invite that unlocks the case for you, free of charge.
  • Play with 2–5 people, on any day, at any hour that suits you.
  • Then tell us everything: dead ends, ambiguous answers, hints that came too late — and what you would have paid for it.
  • And if the case earns it, leave a review and a five-star rating on Questo. For a brand-new case that is the single biggest help you can give us.

If you already use Questo, share the address your account is registered with — an invitation sent to a different address cannot unlock the case.

Prefer Instagram? Send your address as a DM to @enigvia. Or write straight to info@enigvia.com — one line with your address is enough.

The experience

The city becomes the game.

Part walking tour, part escape room, part interactive fiction. You are not answering trivia — you are given a case and you follow it through a real city, where architecture, monuments, inscriptions and locations are the evidence.

What ENIGVIA is

  • One connected story, told cinematically across a real route.
  • Real escape mechanics — what you observe in the street is the raw material for the puzzle.
  • Genuine historical context, researched location by location.
  • A case with a payoff: motive, method and a final reveal.

What ENIGVIA is not

  • Not a classic guided tour.
  • Not a QR scavenger hunt.
  • Not a series of disconnected questions.
  • Not an indoor escape room moved onto the street.
  • Not "go there — count something — type the answer — next point".
The design rule
Physical observation is the key.
The puzzle is the lock.
The story reveal is the reward.

Why it plays differently

Built like a series, not a checklist.

01

Cinematic storytelling

A single historical thriller arc with characters, motive and a reveal — written to be listened to, not skimmed.

02

Real escape mechanics

City data feeds the puzzle. What you count, read or notice becomes an input — never the final answer typed straight in.

03

Multiple cases per city

A city is a hub, not a single product. Maribor opens with two independent cases in different genres.

04

Team play by design

Built for 2–5 players, so splitting up, comparing notes and arguing about the evidence is part of the mechanic.

05

Field-tested routes

Every clue is walked and verified. No mandatory clue depends on opening hours or an entrance fee.

06

A connected universe

Cases leave threads. Some of them run between cities — and they are meant to be followed.

Open cases

Maribor, Slovenia — the first city hub.

Two cases, two genres, the same streets. One asks who did it. The other asks whether you can stop it in time.

Questions.

Can I play the first case now?

Case 001 is finished and we are running the pre-launch test round, so right now the way in is as a tester: leave your email address in the box on this page and we unlock the case for you for free. You do not need a Questo account beforehand — it is free and takes seconds, and the instructions come with your invite. One warning: Questo's invitation mail frequently lands in Spam, Junk or the Promotions tab, so check those folders if it does not show up. Details on joining the test round.

Do I need to book a time slot?

No. There is no guide and no schedule. Buy the case, walk to the starting point and begin whenever it suits you — including in the evening.

How many phones does my team need?

One is enough. The case is designed for 2–5 players sharing a single device, so you investigate together rather than each staring at your own screen.

Do I have to pay to enter any buildings?

Never. No mandatory clue depends on an entrance fee or on opening hours. Every required observation is made from public space.

What if we get stuck?

Every puzzle has a graded hint system, ending in the answer. Our own quality bar is that no tester is stuck for more than five minutes without a useful hint.

Is the story true?

The locations, architecture and historical context are real and researched. The central characters and the conspiracy in Case 001 are fiction. Case 002 is built on a documented Maribor legend. Each case states clearly where history ends and storytelling begins.

What languages are available?

Slovenian, English and German at launch.
